I had so much fun making these beautiful family photos up in Rocky Mountain National Park the other day. Atlanta residents, Tyler and Jackie, were married up at the Stanley Hotel 10 years ago and to celebrate their anniversary they decided to take a trip back to Colorado, this time with their three sweet daughters in tow. We had the most perfect spring day for their family photos and Sprague Lake provided the most perfect backdrop. Dressed in angel-white dresses, their girls climbed boulders, threw rocks into the lake, smelled wildflowers and kept a look out for Bigfoot. They each showed off their fantastically willful personalities, scratched legs and pretty smiles. These are some of my favorite family photos to date. Hope you like them too!

Family Portrait Session | The Giglio’s
The Giglio’s wanted to freshen up the prints in the frames scattered around their home so we met for a quick family portrait session at Irvine Regional Park, CA. They were so thoughtful to include both sets of grandparents in these photos! Timeless family archives of three generations, I wish I had some beautiful photos with my grandparents. What a great idea for a family portrait session!

Family & Children Portrait Photographer | The Casto’s in CA
Here are some photos from a recent family and children portrait photography shoot I did at Tri-City Park in Placentia, CA. The Casto’s have been my friends for over 10 years and it’s been so much fun watching their family grow. They have the sweetest, most energetic, blue-eyed, blonde haired babies around!
I think this shoot is a perfect example of a “typical” family and children portrait session. Some formal, mostly candid, but all fun!

Boulder Family Photographer | Zoey is 1
Zoey is one. She loves flashing her two bottom teeth, her talking toy police car, clapping her hands, singing, dancing and her mommy and daddy. We had a great little family portrait session out at Boulder, Colorado’s Chautauqua Park where this little peanut gave me so many sweet expressions and precious moments that editing her photos was such a challenge, I loved them all!

Family Portrait Photography | Travel Tuesdays
Today I finished editing my fifth family photo shoot with the Duncan family. Chris & Michelle have been my dear friends for over 10 years and every time I visit California I do a shoot with their beautiful daughters to try and thank them for all their wonderful hospitality. It’s been amazing to watch their little family grow. Their oldest, Kendall, is a chatterbox and so, SO, thoughtful, just like her momma. While two-year-old Reagan is clever, independent, and stubborn, just like her dada.
Our shoots began when Kendall was just a few months old, we did another when they visited Colorado around her first birthday and then I have done a shoot every year since. I can’t believe she is four already. This trip was great because even though it had been a full year since I had visited, Kendall remembered me and was instantly my little buddy again. Two-year-old Reagan is a bit more weary of “strangers” and took a little more time to warm up but by the end of my trip she was giving me her beautiful smile freely.
There are so many wonderful moments and memories I have of working with this family. Kendall resting her head on her father’s shoulder while he fixes the swing, stomping around in pink cowboy boots and dancing with fairy wings in her bedroom. I remember Reagan’s tiny feet in her mother’s loving hands, her bright pink, puckered lips and one-year-old meltdowns. Now she is spunky and constantly rebelling against clothing, always just in a diaper tugging on her ear while sucking on her thumb. Watching them move from the baby swing to sharing a big-girl swing hanging on to each other with such caring, precious, sisterly love is truly amazing.
Michelle is running out of wall space after all of our shoots. There is something really special about walking in to a home and seeing photos you made blanket the walls. I am so thankful I was able to be there to capture some of the special moments from these fleeting years.
