  • Laura & Galen in Boulder

Laura and Galen are a perfect match. They are both physicists, both volunteer with Boulder Search & Rescue, both are quiet, humble, unassuming and shy away from being the center of attention. They are warm hearted, friendly, deeply religious, intellectual people who were surrounded by an equally wonderful group of family and friends to help them celebrate their blessed union.

Nuptials were recited at Boulder’s St. Andrew Presbyterian Church where Laura and her bridal party prepared, surrounded by images of Noah and his arc painted on the church’s nursery room walls. Followed by their reception held at the Red Lion Inn under a beautiful white tent full of twinkling lights and Chinese lanterns swaying gently through the warm summer night.

  • Kellie & Chris in Denver

Kellie & Chris were married at Denver’s Phipps Tennis Pavilion on another hot but gorgeous summer day. Both the bride and groom were amazingly relaxed, just excited and blissfully happy. Beforehand, the ladies buzzed around Kellie with diligent purpose helping her prepare and offered up several toasts to get the celebration started, while the guys joked around and shared nips from a Jack Daniel’s bottle waiting for the minute when they could get out of their roasting jackets.

The bride and groom’s parents served as the officents for this wedding and back in the waiting area their mamas rehearsed by window light as they anxiously tried to remember their lines. During the ceremony Chris’s father was so overcome with emotion he had to keep looking away to hold back his tears as the couple recited their vows but the bridesmaids, glowing in champagne colored dresses, were the complete opposite looking on happily with tears streaming down their faces.

Portraits were made around the stunning Phipps grounds wandering through the colorful gardens and under the apple trees, and despite the stifling heat Kellie and Chris, surround by a slew of guests, tore up the dance floor for several hours straight.

  • Tori & Jon | Engagement Photography in Boulder, Colorado

I met Jon last summer through a friend and this year when he got engaged his fiancee, Tori, was hunting for wedding photographers and I randomly made her top three. It was kismet.

Recently we headed up to Boulder’s Settler’s Park for an engagement session and had a wonderful time climbing up the beautiful red rocks and sitting by the creek making images. I’m not sure how someone as beautiful as Tori could be camera shy but with lot’s of encouragement from  Jon and myself I feel like she was able to come out of her shell a bit and therefore made some really striking images.

  • Shannon & Kody in Denver

This is the second summer in a row I was fortunate enough to work with the warm and friendly Regan’s as they welcomed another new addition to their family. Last summer Chris wed the lovely Ally and this summer Chris’ sister, Shannon, recited her vows to Kody at the stunning Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver.

Back in late May I met Shannon and Kody up at Red Rocks for an engagement session and I was psyched for their wedding. Their ease, playfulness and naturalness in front of the camera made my job a breeze. Their wedding was no different and having their wonderful family and friends surrounding them made the day a truly memorable event.

A hot but blue sky day made for great portraits at Washington Park and we finished the night off at Englewood’s Franciscan Event Center.

(the groom’s father probably took as many photos as I did that day!)

  • Kristine & Brock in Boulder

I had the pleasure of working as a second shooter with John Heisel at the beginning of July photographing Kristine & Brock’s beautiful wedding at the St. Julien Hotel. It was great getting to spend time with the groomsmen wandering around downtown Boulder while John was off with the ladies and I absolutely loved the feel of this wedding created by Brighter Day florist with wonderful aspen branches, aspen barks and fun peacock feathers accenting the boutineers. Finally, a special thanks to Spice at Calluna Events for making it such a fun and romantic wedding to work at.

  • Kate & Lincoln in Estes Park

Kate & Lincoln recited their nuptials at the Twin Owls Steakhouse in Estes Park in mid July on a typical mountain summer day. One minute the sun was shining, the next gray clouds and rain blew in and then in the blink of an eye the sun was back out and blue skies reigned. This all happened within the two hours I spent with the delightful couple. A mid-week, intimate wedding, Kate & Lincoln just wanted the basics covered although I couldn’t resist coming early to photograph Kate getting ready at the historic Stanley Hotel.
