Frequently Asked Questions

What is your style?

My style is what I like to call "elevated photojournalism". I've been documenting weddings for over 10 years and I am a trained photojournalist  (check out my editorial work here). It is important to me and the couple's I work with to keep it as natural and organic as possible. You won't find trendy filters in my portfolio or "styled" shoots (many photographers use models to build their portfolios). These are real couples on the happiest days of their lives. I will gently coach you to ensure we capture the best angels and most flattering light. This is mainly during your portraits, during the rest of your wedding day I will be more like a fly on the wall or a very observant guest, documenting all that happens during your wedding day.

How long will it take to receive my photos?

No matter what time of the year it is, I promise to deliver you your photos within 4-6 weeks.

What if you've never worked at my venue before?

Destination wedding photography is something I thrive at. As a trained photojournalist and with over a decade of experience, I have the ability to walk in to a situation or new location and excel at wedding photography. Whether we are in your hometown or a thousand miles away, I promise to bring you uniquely composed and thoughtful wedding photos you will cherish forever.

Can we print our own photos?

Absolutely! All sessions come with your high-resolution digital negatives on either a thumbdrive or downloadable link. Copyright will always remain with me but with your signed contract comes consent to reproduce the photos at will.

Do you photograph details and formal family portraits?

Of course! Either myself or one of my trusted assistant shooters will be sure to capture all the details you put so much thought in to making your day memorable. Also, we definitley make time for family formals and I even ask for a custom list of these photos so that I don't miss any important people.

What should we wear to our engagement or family portrait session?

Wear something you feel good in and matches the environment you choose to meet at. If we are meeting in the mountains, leave your heels at home. If we are meeting downtown, maybe dress it up a little. These photos are meant to be a natural reflection of you. Be yourselves. Think about your best features and accentuate them. Stay away from super bold patterns and please don't be too matchy-matchy. Wearing plaid is fine and staying along the same color palette is encouraged.

Do you offer albums?

Sure thing! I have many wonderful options to turn your digital images into something you can hold and pass on to future generations. I think they are so important that an album or album credit comes with all of my wedding collections. Once booked I will show you beautiful samples and walk you through the whole ordering process.
