Jessica & Daniel were married at Denver’s Brown Palace in the beautiful Onyx Room under a mural of cherubs painted into a blue sky. Their ceremony was filled with laughs, tears and a sweet little kiss on Daniel’s ring after Jessica slipped it on his finger. It was fantastic having time to wander around the hauntingly romantic, historic hotel and make some creative portraits. I love when a couple forgets I am there, like Jessica & Daniel, and truly enjoys the moments after they are wed as I happily snap away. During the reception their small but lively group of family and friends wore that dance floor out with salsa numbers and line dances from the moment the music started until the very last song. Thank you Jessica & Daniel for making the last wedding of my season such a beautiful and memorable one. I am a lucky photographer to have had such amazing couples to work with.

Jen & Mike’s Sedalia Wedding
I had the pleasure of working with San Francisco based photographer Nikki Ritcher in early October photographing the wedding of Jen & Mike at the Sanctuary Golf Course in Sedalia. I haven’t been a “second shooter” in a while and it was really nice having some of the pressure taken off of me. Jen & Mike were really wonderful to work with and Nikki is a very talented and laid back photographer- we got along famously and I look forward to working with her again in January.

Sarah & Shawn
Sarah & Shawn got married at the beautiful Queen of Peace Church in Aurora where Shawn and his family have been longtime members. Sarah was a wonderfully calm bride but was so full of emotion she burst into tears at the sound of Shawn’s voice when called her before the ceremony. Shawn’s 9-year-old son, Keegan, was the best man and stood at his father’s side with a proud smile firmly planted on his face. Tears streamed down Sarah’s face as she recited her vows and Shawn couldn’t stop stealing kisses from his beautiful bride in the limo ride to Boulder’s Chautauqua Dining hall where they hosted their reception. It was an unusually warm September day, the light following the reception was perfect, and we scrambled over to the flatirons to make beautifully, romantic portraits among the hills and tall, golden grass.

Kristin & Steve
Kristin and Steve met in Aspen on a ski trip and ironically I met them on the slopes as well. Friends, of friends, of friends, we hit it off right away and I was really excited when they chose me to photograph their wedding. Rain almost foiled their plans for an outdoor wedding at the beautiful Phipps Tennis Pavilion in Denver but miraculously the rains let up just in time for their small outdoor ceremony and some quick portraits on the grounds. The fun-loving bride and groom rented the Bronco Bus to chauffeur them and their large bridal party around and the newlyweds flooded their guests with funny hats, feathered boas and silly sunglasses as they danced non-stop all night long at the Brown Palace. True love is letting your new husband use your leg like a guitar to rock out to Journey.

Stephanie & Will’s Engagement Session
Stephanie and Will’s wedding is right around the corner but I’m so glad we could squeeze in an engagement session before their big day on June 6th. I find these portrait sessions are a great way for clients to get to know me better and feel more at ease in front of my camera. They are also important because by the time their wedding rolls around we have become friends and I’m not just some lady they met once for a consultation at a coffee shop.
For this session we headed over to Chautauqua Park and Boulder Creek to make images in front of the stunning flatirons and along the rushing creek. Stephanie and Will were so much fun to work with. Their quirky, easy-going personalities mesh so well and they made the shoot so much fun for me. Will even convinced his beautiful bride to hop in the freezing creek, soaking her jeans, for a shot and to hang upside-down on a playground.
I am so excited for their wedding where we will be sure to get more fun photos in their adult size moon bounce.
