Chris and Linda are Chicago natives but while on a family ski trip to Breckenridge, Colorado they thought it would be the perfect time to have winter engagement photos done. It was Valentine’s Day and we started in the historic downtown Breckenridge which is full of colors and textured walls making for great backdrops. Then we headed up to Boreas Pass where the sun was setting and we had the most perfect late afternoon light for their snowy, winter session.
Alexis and Garrett love the mountains of Colorado but decided to have their destination wedding back in the small town of Nelson, New Hampshire where they grew up surrounded by all of their friends, families and newborn baby girl.
Nelson, New Hampshire is beautiful and tiny, and remote. Alexis’ family cabin on Silver Lake made the most perfect backdrop for their wedding ceremony and their tented backyard wedding hosted a wonderful party well in to the evening. Kids played barefoot in the yard, adult beverages cooled in a canoe filled with ice and guests tore up the dancefloor. The whole event felt very authentic, very joyful, very Alexis and Garrett.
“How do you feel about climbing that rock?” is a question I surprisingly ask many of my couples! Luckily, I work with such fun-loving and adventurous people they are usually game, even in their wedding attire. Alexis and Garrett were no different and their willingness to scramble up a giant boulder to pacify my creativity worked out to one of my favorite sunset photos of all time. So thank you, Alexis and Garrett, for your hospitality, openness and adventurous spirits. I am so honored I was asked to document your lakeside destination wedding. It was truly a blast and so fun working in a new location!

Sarah & Erik had the most perfect fall day for their Beaver Creek wedding held at Saddle Ridge. The rustic, yet elegant Beaver Creek wedding venue was the most beautiful backdrop nestled in to an aspen grove and tucked in to the mountains. These mountain lovers were naturals in front of the camera and partied with their gracious family and friends well into the evening.

These two cuties from Michigan eloped at Rocky Mountain National Park and I feel so fortunate to have been able to document their day. We got up at sunrise for their Rocky Mountain National Park elopement and were greeted with a most perfect day. The alpenglow on the mountains was stunning. I truly could not have asked for a more picturesque day or a more lovely couple to work with.

As wedding planners, we have a difficult time picking just one favorite Colorado venue because they are all so unique and special! One of our recent favorite venues to work at was Piney River Ranch. In the city, Blanc is a great venue to really make your vision come alive! The simple space allows you to create something that doesn’t exist yet from a modern museum to an enchanted garden. The Tivoli Turnhalle is the perfect historic location. Once a brewery, the two-story building allows for a seamless transition from cocktail hour to dinner and dancing. The brick walls provide a vintage background for all wedding themes.
We always love working at the Four Seasons Residence Denver and Vail locations. The team there always provides top notch service, food & drinks, and you can’t beat those ballroom chandeliers! On site accommodations and concierge service also add to the draw.
Going back up into the mountains, we adore Beaver Creek Chapel. It’s a stunning ceremony location close to a wide variety of reception venues that make it easy for your guests to experience more than just one Colorado mountain town. Wherever your perfect venue is located, we make the experience seamless and fun!
We suggest to every couple to book their planner first! We can save you a lot of time looking for venues that will fit your dreams. From there, it is important to decide what level of involvement you would like to have- do you want to just do the fun parts such as tastings and selecting linens or do you want to be with us side by side as we put your vision together?
One question to consider before hiring a planner is, Why? Is it the expertise and experience we provide? Or, the time and stress we can take off your plate? Or, is having someone to be there for anything you need- venting, questions, worries, and having fun?
Before we get started on anything, you will need to determine a final guest list and budget range! So many pieces of the wedding (especially the venue!) are dictated by the guest list and budget so it’s good to nail these things down first.
Bonus question: What is the most common problem a couple overlooks when planning their destination wedding and how to resolve it?
Colorado is a popular destination wedding location. Many wedding guests will make a family vacation or long weekend out of their trip so it’s good to give everyone helpful hints. Whether that be to use Uber rather than a taxi, or to drink lots of water, or that you can experience the mountains in the foothills without driving 3 hours, your guests will love reading your personalized tips about the town!
When planning the wedding, we always consider the logistics of transportation. If many of your guests are flying in from out of town, it will be difficult for them to transition for a ceremony venue to a separate reception venue. We want to make sure your guests have an easy, comfortable experience on their trip!

Piney River Ranch is one of Colorado’s best wedding venues. It’s a bit of a trek to reach but, in my opinion, totally worth it. This was about my 5th time photographing a wedding up at Piney River Ranch and it has yet to disappoint, especially with their recently renovated reception area, it is a perfect backdrop for any summer wedding.
Grace & Steven are my ideal couple. They are kind, gracious and completely in love. Thank you so very much for having me tell your story. Your moments are ones I will never forget!
