  • Leslie & Andrew | Boulder, Colorado Winter Engagement Photography

    Downtown Boulder, Colorado engagement photographers.

Leslie was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Boulder over three years ago. She met Andrew about the same time and over the years we would secretly chat about the possibility of them getting married and I secretly hoped they would choose me to photograph their wedding. This year we both got our wishes.

They will be having a fall wedding next year up in the mountains and thought it would be fun to do a snowy engagement session. We lucked out when Boulder was hit with an early, heavy snow that stuck to the trees and made everything look magical.

Leslie & Andrew are an amazing couple who bring out the best in each other and are really wonderful friends. I’m so lucky to know them and can’t wait to celebrate with them next year.

  • Christi & Ben – Iowa Wedding Photography

High school sweethearts Christi & Ben finally tied the knot and I feel so lucky to have gotten to travel to their hometown in Iowa to document their day! They have been a couple for over 10 years and my friends for the past 2. Despite there many years together it was obvious they still feel butterflies when they look at each other and they both were so incredibly happy this day had come at last.

It was so much fun capturing Christi & Ben’s beautiful backyard wedding with their eclectic group of friends and family looking on. During the ceremony, streaks of late day sun pierced through the tall trees illuminating both sets of teary-eyed parents and we wandered around the countryside making photos in the tall grass and along the long, flat, dirt roads. After, the newlyweds threw a fantastic party downtown with so many people who watched them grow up there to celebrate their momentous day.

I didn’t know what to expect from Iowa and was pleasantly surprised and think it’s important to write a little about the town I became so enamored with… I had no idea my friends came from such a progressive place!

Fairfield, IA is a beautiful, quaint, seemingly typical mid-western town with a lovely downtown square and coffee shops where people notice strangers. However, this mid-western town is anything but typical. Fairfield was put on the map back in the 70’s when a slew of open-minded students followed the Beatles Vedic sage, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, to start the Maharishi University of Management. The school began attracting hundreds of students from around the world, hosted a world peace conference in 1979 and has been described as the home of the Transcendental Meditation movement. I met so many interesting people just walking the streets. What a cool town, and a place I truly enjoyed wandering around and making images of.

  • Molly & Kevin- Boulder Wedding Photography

Molly & Kevin had an intimate Boulder wedding with only family and a few close friends looking on. They recited their vows at Chautauqua Park with the flatirons looming in the background and toasted champagne under a setting sun. We made images around the parks trails, picking our way through the tall grass and stepping carefully around the cactus. Dinner downtown followed at Brasserie Ten Ten.

  • Shari & Mike’s Wedding at the Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park

It is so nice when a couple truly relaxes and enjoys their wedding day. Shari & Mike were completely at ease and savored every moment of this extremely special day shared with family and friends from around the country.

This was my first time exploring the grounds at the beautiful Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park and I will never forget watching the flower girl break down as she walked down the aisle and the grooms parents cut a rug during the reception… boy could they dance!

  • Carol & Chris Wedding at The Denver Westin Downtown

Carol & Chris were married on the pool deck of Denver’s Westin hotel on one of the longest days of the year. The brilliant, late day, golden sunlight illuminated smiling guests who tried to cool themselves with blue and white fans on the hot summer day and the happy couple were so much fun to work with as we made portraits around the bustling 16th Street Mall. One of my favorite and most memorable parts of the day was during the reception when the father of the bride read a four page speech that had the entire room in stitches and the bride blushing with embarassment and love.

Thanks so much to Deseri at the Westin who did a beautiful job with the Augusta Room, decked out in Carol’s favorite shade of purple, and to DJ Jay Kacik with Standing Room Only who kept the guests on their feet.
