Destination wedding photography and engagement photo sessions are some of the most exciting parts of the work that I do, and my recent session with Stacey and Eddie reminded me of that. While their Denver engagement photos weren’t all that far of a distance away, per se, I enjoyed getting to work with them as an urban engagement photographer as we captured their engagement photos back in the fall.

Our session took place on a beautiful fall day with the most perfect late afternoon golden sunlight. Stacey looked absolutely radiant in a flowing, off white gown that was simply gorgeous for the photo session. She truly evoked the glamour of a vintage-era screen goddess, and the contrast of her gown with the rich terracotta tones of the historic buildings in the park was seriously on point.

I think this photo session reminded me of the fun of being a destination wedding photographer because of the way the rich architectural details of the buildings in City Park provided such a beautiful contrast in these photos. Many of my clients enjoy outdoor Colorado wedding and engagement photos that incorporate our rugged, beautiful scenery. Stacey and Eddie’s choice of City Park brought some of the area’s rich history and iconic architecture into their photo session with some seriously stunning results. Their unique engagement photo session totally matched their fun and playful personalities. They were completely natural in front of the camera, and it was so much fun to capture images that reflected their joy at being with one another! This fun-loving and romantic couple has planned a fall wedding at the Sonnenalp in Vail, Colorado, and I’m excited to see what this new chapter of their lives holds. It was a cold, rainy, all-around miserable spring day but Kate & Stephen’s Boulder Colorado engagement photos were still a blast. With their Louisville, Colorado wedding less than a month away we decided not to postpone their engagement photos and just prepared for the rain with a pretty, clear plastic umbrella and some backup locations in mind so we could get out of the rain. Kate & Stephen are the type of people I dream of working with. They simply made the best of their Boulder Colorado engagement photos by focusing on each other. Their love is palpable, I cannot wait to photograph their May wedding!

Winter Engagement Photos

Chris and Linda are Chicago natives but while on a family ski trip to Breckenridge, Colorado they thought it would be the perfect time to have winter engagement photos done. It was Valentine’s Day and we started in the historic downtown Breckenridge which is full of colors and textured walls making for great backdrops. Then we headed up to Boreas Pass where the sun was setting and we had the most perfect late afternoon light for their snowy, winter session.

Boulder, Colorado Engagement Photos | Alyssa & Brett

Alyssa and Brett’s Boulder, Colorado engagement photos were so much fun to make! We started in downtown Boulder where I photographed them zipping around on their red Vespa and then wandering around Pearl Street. Then we headed up to Chautauqua Park for a more rustic setting hiking through all of the tall, golden grass as the sun set on this fabulous fall engagement session. Best of luck to the two of you!

Boulder Engagement Photography | Rachael & Chris

I met this beautiful couple at a special, secret, trailhead south of town, for their Boulder engagement photography. Rachael and Chris were such a pleasure to work with and we had the most beautiful fall weather. The rustic trailhead was a perfect spot for their Boulder engagement photography offering sweeping views of the mountains, fields of tall grass to play in and a small forest glowing in the late afternoon light. I love how natural they were in front of the camera, joking, hugging and showing off how wonderfully in love they are. I can’t wait for their wedding next summer in Estes Park at the Twin Owls Steakhouse.
