  • Camille & Patrick Allenspark/Boulder

Camille & Patrick have been together for several years already. However, on their wedding day their love for each other was as fresh and intense as I imagine their first days of falling in love were. They were glued together at the lips and I had to beg them for a few images looking my way! It was beautiful watching them exchange meaningful glances and to see the sheer joy in their eyes as they truly celebrated their day.

I met Camille about a year ago while substitute teaching at a Boulder Montessori school where she quickly taught me how to keep a classroom full of rambunctious two-year-olds in line. We were fast friends and I was beyond thrilled when she asked me to document her and Patrick’s special day(s).

It was really important to both the bride and groom that they have a wedding that suited them and didn’t get caught up in what could be an overwhelming time. They did it perfectly. Intimate, romantic, thoughtful and unique. Only 20 people watched them exchange vows at the Wild Basin Lodge in Allenspark, Mt. Meeker towering in the background, and the following day they celebrated with a fantastic party held in downtown Boulder at Rembrandt Yard.

Thank you, my friends, for letting me capture the joining of your two lives together.

  • Heidi & Scott in Golden

Heidi & Scott hosted a beautiful August wedding at the Golden Hotel in lovely downtown Golden. People tubing Clear Creek and using the nearby bike path got a sneak peak at the couple reciting their vows and the historic mining town’s Clear Creek History Park made for fun portraits posing near the rustic old buildings. Heidi is not a shy bride and entertained her guests with animated dances as her new husband looked on with love in his eyes and a smile firmly planted on his face. Their family and friends toasted to Heidi’s bad driving, cheese curds and to the blissfully happy couple finding each other. A special thanks to Dominique Taylor for helping me capture this fun couple’s unforgettable day.

  • Beth & Robbie | Boulder, Colorado Engagement Photography

Beth & Robbie recently came up from Denver to have their engagement photos taken at Boulder’s beautiful Wonderland Lake. A fun, relaxed, head-over-heels in love couple I am really looking forward to their Vail wedding next summer.

  • Ely & Jonah in Denver

Ely and Jonah met through friends while Salsa dancing. There was an immediate connection however, there was one little problem, Ely is from Peru and only spoke Spanish. Jonah would not be dissuade from pursuing the exotic, dark-haired beauty and they stumbled through many, many dates with the help of a Spanish/English dictionary until they were able to communicate through more than wild hand gestures and shy smiles.

The lovely couple had me come out on a hot, August day for a couple of hours to capture the official joining of their lives together. The Denver Botanic Gardens provided an amazing backdrop for the quaint ceremony and incredible portraits in the late day sun. Jonah’s 7-year-old son handled the enormous responsibility of best man with ease and his two daughters beamed with happiness beneath floral head wreaths. Then the happy couple was whisked away to a beautiful backyard reception where a feast of traditional Peruvian entrees awaited.

  • Laura & Galen in Boulder

Laura and Galen are a perfect match. They are both physicists, both volunteer with Boulder Search & Rescue, both are quiet, humble, unassuming and shy away from being the center of attention. They are warm hearted, friendly, deeply religious, intellectual people who were surrounded by an equally wonderful group of family and friends to help them celebrate their blessed union.

Nuptials were recited at Boulder’s St. Andrew Presbyterian Church where Laura and her bridal party prepared, surrounded by images of Noah and his arc painted on the church’s nursery room walls. Followed by their reception held at the Red Lion Inn under a beautiful white tent full of twinkling lights and Chinese lanterns swaying gently through the warm summer night.

  • Kellie & Chris in Denver

Kellie & Chris were married at Denver’s Phipps Tennis Pavilion on another hot but gorgeous summer day. Both the bride and groom were amazingly relaxed, just excited and blissfully happy. Beforehand, the ladies buzzed around Kellie with diligent purpose helping her prepare and offered up several toasts to get the celebration started, while the guys joked around and shared nips from a Jack Daniel’s bottle waiting for the minute when they could get out of their roasting jackets.

The bride and groom’s parents served as the officents for this wedding and back in the waiting area their mamas rehearsed by window light as they anxiously tried to remember their lines. During the ceremony Chris’s father was so overcome with emotion he had to keep looking away to hold back his tears as the couple recited their vows but the bridesmaids, glowing in champagne colored dresses, were the complete opposite looking on happily with tears streaming down their faces.

Portraits were made around the stunning Phipps grounds wandering through the colorful gardens and under the apple trees, and despite the stifling heat Kellie and Chris, surround by a slew of guests, tore up the dance floor for several hours straight.
