This was my first time doing a surprise Boulder engagement session! Heather contacted me about wanting to do a shoot with her boyfriend, Michael, while they were vacationing in Colorado from Missouri. What Heather did not know was that Michael had contacted me also and was planning on asking her to marry him during their Boulder engagement session. We set it all up, met at a beautiful location in Boulder, and completely surprised Heather! It was such a fun shoot and so wonderful to see these young, incredibly in love, sweet people become engaged.

Boulder Colorado Engagement Photos | Colorado Wedding Photographer
It was a cold, rainy, all-around miserable spring day but Kate & Stephen’s Boulder Colorado engagement photos were still a blast. With their Louisville, Colorado wedding less than a month away we decided not to postpone their engagement photos and just prepared for the rain with a pretty, clear plastic umbrella and some backup locations in mind so we could get out of the rain. Kate & Stephen are the type of people I dream of working with. They simply made the best of their Boulder Colorado engagement photos by focusing on each other. Their love is palpable, I cannot wait to photograph their May wedding!

Estes Park Wedding Photography | Alisha & Jake
Alisha and Jake had their fantastic Estes Park Wedding at the YMCA of the Rockies. The YMCA is a rustic, casual and unique wedding venue with breathtaking views and a great staff to help your day run smoothly. They rented out an enormous cabin where most of their wedding party stayed to party with them and help them prepare for their Estes Park wedding. They had bright, sunny Colorado skies for their ceremony that was held on a bluff under a giant wooden cross. Jake’s last name is Pepper, so Alisha cleverly had her florist make her gorgeous center pieces out of peppers and flowers. It was simply a lovely occasion for two people madly in love with each other and such a fun wedding to be a part of. I can’t wait to document another Estes Park wedding!
Words from the wonderful couple:
“The memories that Kira captured are undoubtedly some of the richest of our lives, and her candid style couldn’t have been more perfect for a mountain wedding. Our day was truly a gift, and thanks to Kira’s photography we have the rest of our lives to reminisce. Thank you so much!”

Fall Family Portraits | Nederland Colorado Family Photography
I had the utmost pleasure to work with long-time clients Beth & Robbie in Nederland Colorado for their second round of family portraits this past fall. I photographed Beth and Robbie’s engagement session, gorgeous Piney River Ranch wedding and first set of family portraits when their daughter turned one. Now they have added another daughter to their beautifully growing tribe and we got to spend another wonderful afternoon together.
Nederland was a great spot for natural family photography and we took a short hike out to an iconic red barn and played in the peaking yellow aspen trees. Being able to document all of a family’s milestone’s is one of the reasons I love my job so much. It is such an honor to watch this lovely family grow!

Breckenridge Wedding Photography | The Lodge in Breckenridge Winter Wedding Photos
Angela and Peter were married on a cold, snowy day up at The Lodge at Breckenridge. The Lodge is a beautiful, quaint and idyllic location perfect for a Colorado mountain wedding. Both the bride and groom enjoyed getting ready surrounded by the most important people in their lives. Despite the snowy conditions, the winter wedding was held on the beautiful deck that overlooks Breckenridge Mountain and I think the lovely snowflakes just added to the beauty of the setting.
Angela and Peter are the type of people I absolutely love working with! They were up for anything with regards to their portraits and such good sports in the frigid temperatures as we wondered around Breckenridge making their wedding portraits.
Afterwards, things definitely got heated during their fabulous reception at The Lodge at Breckenridge where DJ Connection put on a wild dance party all of their guests loved.
Sweet words from lovely people…
“Our photos from Kira are absolutely magical. It was a cold, snowy day in Breckenridge but Kira made sure she captured every moment! When we first met with Kira we let her know that it was important that we had pictures that captured “us” naturally. That is exactly what she did. She caught candid moments with our friends and family and truly captured the emotion and excitement of the day. Our family portraits are absolutely outstanding and had my mother and mother-in-law immediately ordering large prints to hang in their homes. I would highly recommend Kira for her professionalism, creativity, and natural ability as a photographer. Thank you so much Kira, these pictures are truly more than what we hoped for.” ~ Angela & Peter

Austria Destination Wedding | Colleen & Rob in Austria
Sometimes it’s hard for me to come up with unique words to describe each wedding I photograph. Each one of them is special in their own way. Each one is filled with love and emotion and so many wonderful moments. The below Austria destination wedding photography is from Mautern, Austria and took place in an old winery called Weingut Nikolaihof. I hope the photos speak for themselves and I like my clients, my friends, to speak about me…
From Colleen & Rob:
“I’ve known Kira for years and was thrilled that she could photograph my wedding. She was a delight to work with throughout the entire process. She was enthusiastic about the venue and the event, yet a total professional. She was fun and playful while we were getting ready, and totally unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception. She did a great job of capturing the character of our guests as well as the character of the venue – a very old Austrian winery. The ceremony was in a white vaulted hall, the portraits outdoors, the reception was all over the place, and the dancing was in a dimly lit stone room.. all of the photos came out looking fantastic! I love the moments she captured of our guests interacting. You’d swear our friends and family are all models!”
